Each state had been divided into an amount of districts that the state receives based on the amount of people living within the state. The major power of the House is to pass federal legislation that affects the entire country although its bills must also be passed by the Senate and then signed  by the President before becoming law. The House has  a few exclusive powers: the power to initiate revenue bills, to impeach officials, and to elect the U.S. President when the electoral college ends in a draw.
